Thank you for your interest in Citizens Climate Lobby. Whether you are new to climate change or a seasoned advocate, we’re glad you’re here! With CCL you’ll receive the training, support and opportunities you need to make a difference.
Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a non-profit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization empowering people from all walks of life to become effective advocates for bipartisan climate solutions. We know climate change is a big problem. We stay focused on a national, legislative solution that will reduce America’s emissions, fast.
While our focus in on national solutions, our volunteers primarily take action locally. If you have 10 minutes a month or 10 hours a week, if you prefer to work out front or behind the scenes, you can find a place in CCL and effectively raise awareness and momentum for climate action. Our volunteers host public outreach events, write letters to the editor, write to and meet with members of Congress and their staff, seek endorsements from business and community leaders, post on social media, and much more. Our approach is always respectful.
CCL has more than 500 chapters worldwide with the bulk of them being in the United States. Here in Arkansas we have active chapters in Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Jonesboro, Little Rock, and Mountain Home, as well as an online group – Arkansas 04 Online, uniting our volunteers across the Fourth Congressional District. In addition we are organizing and working with allies in Conway, Russellville and Southeast Arkansas.
It’s easy to get involved with Citizens Climate Lobby! Here are three suggested steps that you can take in the order of your choice.
“Citizens Climate Lobby is the most effective, realistic, strategic, empathetic advocacy organization I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. CCL is doing the work to empower citizens, mobilize effective action, build relationships, increase bipartisanship, and put forward actionable solutions to the greatest existential threat human civilization has ever faced.”

The Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act
For over a decade, our volunteers have asked their Members of Congress to work together to solve climate change. A viable climate change solution needs to be big and lasting — which means bipartisan legislation. We fully support the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act of 2018. This policy will drive down America’s carbon pollution while unleashing American technology innovation and ingenuity. Learn More here.
This policy will reduce America’s emissions by at least 40% within 12 years. It’s supported by economists and scientists as simple, comprehensive, and effective.
Good for People
This policy will improve health and save lives by reducing pollution that Americans breathe. Additionally, the carbon dividend puts money directly into people’s pockets.
Good for the Economy
This policy will create 2.1 million additional jobs over the next 10 years, thanks to growth in the clean energy economy.
Republicans and Democrats are both on board, cosponsoring this bill together.
The fees collected on carbon emissions will be allocated to all Americans to spend any way they choose.
