Sixth Annual Arkansas Environmental Policy Summit

The League was delighted to partner with the Arkansas Public Policy Panel, Audubon Delta, and the Arkansas Chapter of the Sierra Club on the 6th Annual Arkansas Environmental Policy Summit.   Due to lingering pandemic concerns the Summit was held online on Friday, November 5th. 

 League Board Member Dr. Paulette Meikle co-presented  a session on Climate Justice with an emphasis on the experience of the Marshallese community in Northwest Arkansas. Dr. Meikle, who is an Associate Dean at UAFS, was  joined by our good friend Benetick Kabua Maddison.  Mr. Maddison is a Project Specialist with the Marshallese Educational Initiative, where he focuses on climate, education and nuclear issues.
