Climate League, McGill Center and Antioch Partner on LiHEAP Application Help and Energy Efficiency Kit Giveaway.
On July 10th the generosity of Climate League donors, super volunteers and valuable partners was in full motion at Antioch for Youth and Family in Fort Smith. Together we helped individuals from 20 households apply for utility assistance, provided a hands-on home weatherization demonstration in english and spanish, gave away12 home energy efficiency starter kits, fed 35 people delicious tacos with homemade sides, and sent 20 families home with bags of fresh fruit. Since then we’ve hand delivered additional energy efficiency kits to families in need.
We’re so grateful to all of you who gave to our spring energy efficiency campaign, enabling the creation of 35 kits. A special shout out to the Fort Smith area group Circle of Friends Gathering for their surprise summer donation which allowed us to put together 10 additional kits. We know more Fort Smith area families are looking to keep their homes cooler in summer and warmer in winter, and we’ll be distributing the remaining kits via the Climate League Resource Center housed in the Elizabeth McGill Drop In Center.
