At the end of September Climate League Board Chair Jo Elsken and Outreach Coordinator Herbert McGill traveled to Galveston to speak at the Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) Third Coast Plus Regional Conference.  They joined advocates from Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi on a panel devoted to discussing the successes and challenges of advocating for equitable local change.  

“It was great to hear so many different approaches.  Our story contributed the experience of doing more with less (our small team).  People were impressed that we had accomplished so much: having a growing presence in the community and getting solar panels on community centers, as well as impacting local officials and policies in collaboration with our Fort Smith CCL partners.” – Jo Elsken
