Cheers for Our Latest Solar Energy Milestone

At the end of March Stitt Solar finished installing the second of two solar arrays on Antioch for Youth and Family in Fort Smith! The 64 solar panel addition adds to 105 panels installed at the end of last year. Both systems were funded by the Climate League’s People Power Team 2024 Community Energy Innovation Prize wins. Antioch’s foodbank serves over 1000 families monthly with the need growing. The energy savings provided by the solar panel are not only good for the planet but good for local families, as Antioch is investing their energy bill savings back into critical programs. In addition to the two Antioch arrays, the People Power Team’s Innovation Prize monies paid for the first solar array in Fort Smith’s northside neighborhoods – on the Elizabeth McGill Drop In Center! That array, completed last summer, is delivering significant savings to the McGill Center, which the McGill Center is giving back to the local community in the form of free space for community groups to meet.
